At a medicine conference, which was recently held in Budapest, health institutions were awarded for an “outstanding performance in 2016”. The Clinical Centre of the University of Pécs has won the award for being an “Excellent University”. The First Department of Internal Medicine has also won an award for their “Excellent Cardiology Center”.
During the conference, the “Figyelő TOP-200” was presented to the audience, which is a ranking of all Hungarian health institutions and companies. Connected to these ranking, the health institutions with the most outstanding performances received an award.
Dr. Andor Sebestyén – director of the Clinical Centre at the University of Pécs – accepted the award and in his speech thanked for the recognition and said that the award is a great acknowledgement of the professional and diligent work of all the 3.000 employees of the Clinical Centre. The award of the First Department of Internal Medicine of the University of Pécs was taken over by Dr. Tóth Kálmán, vice rector for science and innovation at the department, who also appreciated the award and once more emphasized that worldwide prevention and rehabilitation of cardiovascular diseases are also a very important part besides the acute care of heart attacks.
